The Friends of Leadership & Public Service High School Honor Donald Schupak

Donald Schupak is the founder of Leadership & Public Service High School, a public school in downtown Manhattan born of his vision to inspire students and teachers by making public schools more community-focused.

He graduated from Syracuse University College of Arts & Sciences in 1964 and its Law School in 1966, and was an active member of the Law Review and Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity. Upon graduation, Schupak founded a law firm in which he served as senior partner for approximately 10 years. He left the active practice of law to found Schupak Group Inc., an organization that provided strategic planning, management consulting and tax and corporate finance services to a variety of clients. Its clients included several Fortune top 50 companies. Donald now serves as Chairman and CEO of SGI Cambium LLC.

Schupak has continued to support Syracuse University by founding and acting as Chair of SU's phone-a-thon fund raising program. He has been a member of the SU Society of Fellows since its founding, served as a member of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs Advisory Board, and was a member of the Metropolitan Advisory Board and Chairman of its long range planning committee He served as an advisor to the Harlem Empowerment Zone and as an advisor to Representative Charles Rangel on community development.

Schupak is listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Industry and Finance. He is a member of the NYS Bar Association, Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the New York County Lawyer's Association. He is active in equestrian sports and breeds and trains race horses, show jumpers and equitation horses on his family farm in New York State.

He is married to the former Cynthia Saul and has five children: Andrew, Jessica, Amanda, Philip Nicholas and Sean Anderson.
